Breyer® Traditional Series Sgt. Reckless .  During a time where female roles in the American military were limited, one rose in ranks and became a national hero. Named "Reckless" by the Marines fighting in the Korean War, a little Mongolian mare began her military career as a simple pack horse, and ended with the rank of Sergeant! Reckless held a very important job during the war- carrying heavy ammunition to the Marines at the front lines. At the Battle of Outpost Vegas in March 1953, Reckless carried almost five tons of ammunition over the course of a few days through "no man's land" to the frontlines, and also carried wounded soldiers to safety!  This unstoppable mare was loved by her Marines and helped boost the morale of her Division.  Reckless was retired to Camp Pendleton in California, where she received her final promotion to Staff Sergeant in 1959.
