"I purchased the Micklem bridle to see if my horse would be steadier in the contact with it. It helped him to streatch into the bit better than a traditional bridle. I like that very much! However, the stiff leather on the noseband rubbed a raw spot on his nose, even though it was not fastened tightly. I put a sheepskin cover over it, which helps, but it looks almost like a shadow roll on a racehorse, so I cannot use it in dressage shows. I wish the noseband was padded like the crown. I think that would solve the rubbing problem."

"I am an older rider so what I love about this bridle is how easy it is to put on especially in the winter when my hands are hurting from arthritis. The leather on the chin and cheek piece is a little stiff at first but it does soften with use. It Fits my Thoroughbed well but it I did not notice much difference as far as his comfort and performance. Its a nice bridle and I love the way it looks and the thick rubber reins are perfect for me. I think its a bit over priced but I would probably buy it again."
