A snaffle will apply direct and even pressure across the tongue when the rein is engaged, the heavy o-ring offers added weight encouraging drop of the horses head by adding pressure to the poll without a heavy hand. The mild nature of a snaffle mouth makes it a good option for young horses before moving to a more refined mouthpiece.
