Made in the USA

The Weaver Heavy Duty Roper Back Cinch is built from premium russet harness leather to provide maximum strength and stability for demanding Western disciplines. Designed to keep your saddle level and secure, this roper-style back cinch helps prevent the cantle from lifting and distributes pressure evenly across your horse’s belly during roping, reining, and challenging trail rides. Highlighted with floral stainless steel roller buckles by renowned saddle maker Jeremiah Watt, it blends rugged performance with refined Western style. The contoured shape, brown latigo leather lining, and durable connector strap ensure a comfortable, reliable fit your horse can depend on.

Sizing Information:

  • Horse size, 8" wide design
  • Designed for use with Western saddles featuring rear cinch dees
  • Proper fit: Cinch should be snug but not tight, allowing 2–3 flat fingers between the cinch and the horse’s belly
  • Placement: Position behind the rib cage, centered on the horse’s belly and about 5" below the rear rigging
  • Signs of poor fit: Too loose (risk of hoof or brush getting caught), too tight (discomfort, tail swishing, irritation)
  • Always secure the connector (hobble) strap to the front cinch to prevent the back cinch from sliding back

How to Use a Back Cinch:

  • Place and center the saddle correctly on your horse’s back.
  • Position the back cinch behind the rib cage, midway up the horse’s side.
  • Adjust until snug, following the two-finger rule for safety and comfort.
  • Attach the connector (hobble) strap between the front and back cinches to hold the rear cinch in place.
  • Before mounting, confirm the cinch is straight, not twisted, and neither overly tight nor dangerously loose.
  • Care & Maintenance:

    • Clean leather with saddle soap and condition regularly to maintain suppleness
    • Wipe hardware with a dry cloth after use to help prevent corrosion
    • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture; allow leather to dry naturally away from heat sources
    • Inspect billets, leather, stitching, and buckles before every ride; replace if worn or damaged

The Weaver Heavy Duty Roper Back Cinch combines rugged harness leather, floral stainless steel hardware, and a contoured roper design to deliver lasting strength, comfort, and classic Western style.
